How to work with objects in Corel Draw

Copy and paste objects

If we use an object in Corel Draw and have to use that object somewhere else, then you copy that object. To copy the object, use the copy command of the Edit menu. When you copy the object, it gets stored in the clipboard. The paste command is used to see this copied object. You can paste the copied text in a special way using the paste special command, paste the object or mater available in the clipboard into the Corel draw file using the paste special command. When you click on this command, the dialog box of Paste Special will open. Clicking on the option of Paste Link in this dialog box keeps linking between other objects. By which you can make any type of changes in the original object. When you make changes, then those changes are applied automatically. A list of the copied objects appears in the clip, from which you select an object and click on OK, then that object gets pasted in the Corel draw file.

Duplicate object

You can duplicate any object in Corel Draw. Follow the steps below to create a duplicate object.
  1. First of all, you have to select the object.
  2. Now you have to click on Edit menu.
  3. By clicking on the duplicate command in it, you can duplicate the selected object.

Note: If you want to duplicate the object, press Ctrl + D key.

Object cloning

In Corel draw you can create a new object by copying the original object with its properties from the clone command of the Edit menu. Follow the following steps to clone the object.
  1.  When you copy an object, the original or master object is called a clone.
  2. Selecting the master object and giving the clone command creates another copy just like that. OA When we make a change in the original object, the cloned object also changes. But if someone changes a copied object, there is no change in its master page.
  3. The difference between a clone and a duplicate is that the clone object changes when a change is made to the original object. But the duplicate object does not change when the original object changes.

Selecting Object

When creating different complex objects in Corel Draw, then its selection also becomes complex. To solve this problem, use the Select All command in the Edit menu. On clicking the Select All command, different options will appear in it.

  1. You have to first select the object to which you want to apply the property of the other object.
  2. Then copy the properties from the edit menu. So a dialog box will open in front of you.
  3. Now you have to select its property in the dialog box that you want to copy, after selecting it, clicking on the OK button changes it into a pointer.
After that, on clicking on the object whose property is to be copied, its pointer is applied to the selected object.

Symbol the object

The Symbol command of the Edit menu is used to store any vector shape created in Corel as a symbol. Due to which, the frequently used shapes can be easily used in the same way and can save time.
This command appears along with its 8 sub commands.
  1. New Symbol: With this option you can create a new symbol.
  2. Edit Symbol: Using this option, the stored symbol can be edited.

  4. Revert to Object: Using this command, you can convert a file once saved as a symbol into an object again.
  5. Break link: When multiple symbols of the same type are used, it is used to separate a single symbol from their link and this option is used to separate the link from the library.
  6. Update form link: This option is used to update and link back a broken symbol.
  7. Export Library: Using this option, you can import the entire library to use the saved symbol in another file.
  8. Symbol Manager: With this option, you can see the list of all the Symbols available in the library.

Object outline

This command is new in Corel Draw. Gray outline with black outline also appears in some place in the outline of the drawn drawing. Meaning that the object's element is not set correctly with the pixel grid. Therefore, this command is used to arrange the object's element by removing the gray color from it.

Insert object

You can insert the object of any window web application in Corel Draw using the Insert New Object command of the Edit menu.
  • On clicking this command, the dialog box of Insert New Object will open in front of you. With this command, Photoshop, bitmap, flash, media clip etc. can be inserted.
