The advantages and disadvantages of Vector Image are as follows -

Advantage of Vector image 

1. In this, the data is displayed in its original resolution.
2. In this, the output is usually better.
3. No data conversion is required in the vector form.
4. The exact geographic location of the data is maintained.

Disadvantage of Vector image 

1. The location of each vertex clearly needs to be stored.
2. For effective analysis, the vector data should be converted into topological structure.
3. Ancestral analysis and filtering inside polygons are difficult.

Raster Image - The advantages and disadvantages of raster graphic are as follows -

Advantage of Vector image

1. The geographic position of each cell is rooted in its position in the cell matrix.
2. Due to data collection technology, data analysis is generally easier to program and leads to perform.
3. It is considered very good for a detailed image.

Disadvantage of Vector image

1. The size of the cell determines the resolution at which the data is represented.
2. The pixels are cut when the image is enlarged and the picture gets spoiled.
3. The file size is more in these.
